Joy P. Ewertz, Esq.
Joy P. Ewertz, Esq., is well versed in the area of Real Estate Law and more specifically in Condominium Law. Ms. Ewertz represents developers, companies, individuals and condominium associations in all areas of real estate law including contract negotiation, real estate acquisitions, commercial loan transactions, mezzanine financing and most specifically, condominium advice and document preparation. Her clients include many central Florida developers as well as developers and real estate professionals located throughout the United States and the world. Ms. Ewertz has been involved with an extensive number of condominium projects throughout the state and most notably, in 2005, Ms. Ewertz assisted developers in over 12% of the condominium conversions in the Central Florida Area.
Ms. Ewertz attended Florida International University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Magna Cum Laude. She obtained her Juris Doctor from Florida State University where she graduated with honors. She also studied at the Charles University Law School in Prague, Czech Republic. In law school Ms. Ewertz was the Executive Editor for the Journal of Transnational Law and Policy, a member of Phi Delta Phi, a Student Teaching Assistant for the Dean of the Law School, a Legal Writing Tutor and a Research Assistant. She was also a clerk intern for Justice Major Harding at the Florida Supreme Court.
Ms. Ewertz decided to open her own law firm in order to provide her clients with more specialized service. Prior to opening her own firm, Ms. Ewertz worked for two different well established, well respected firms in Orlando and Winter Park.
An active volunteer in the community, Ms. Ewertz served on the Event Committee for the Central Florida Red Cross, Valentines Rendezvous Gala; served on the Event Committee for the Return to Respect Gala; and served as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life. She is a member of the Orange County Bar and has most recently been appointed as a Special Magistrate for the Orange County Value Adjustment Board.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Ewertz spent many years as a consultant in the Credit Card Industry where she assisted major financial institutions and private label companies in their system conversions. She also owned and operated a gourmet coffee shop.
